Nigeria has re-echoed its com­mitment to the promotion of human rights in the country. 
The Permanent Secretary, Minis­try of Foreign Affairs, Olusola Eni­kanolaye, who said this at the 4th Ses­sion of the Nigerian-European Union Human Rights Dialogue, in Abuja at the weekend, said the promotion of human rights was the guiding prin­ciple of Nigeria’s foreign policy.

The police in Ondo state have reportedly arrested the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, for hitting a member of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) of the school, Abiodun Ademola Atunbi, with his car at the main campus of the school at Oba’nla in Akure this morning.

The schools emergency twitter handle have alerted students to be at alert and close all entrance leading to where they are presently. One suspect has been confirmed dead in the incident. Three people have been confirmed dead after a vehicle carrying five passengers plunged into Azumini blue river, a tourist spot in Ndoki, Abia State. According to Martins Nwankwo, who posted the photos, the tragic incident occurred on Monday, November 21. Two other passengers are currently receiving treatment at Cottage Hospital, Azumini.
